Do you know that majority of the communication that goes on between two people is non-verbal, and we tend to ignore the most basic signals that people send out. Think of body language more as road signs. Few weeks back we covered body language indicating that the guy you are with, might be lying. Today lets look at indicators that will tell you if the girl sitting across the table is really interested in you.
Mirroring
Also called physical mirroring, this term describes how people tend to copy the behavior of a person that they are attracted to. You may not know but you probably have been doing it all your life without knowing. Have you noticed people who seem to have engaged in an interesting conversation also seem to have a harmony with respect to their body posture and pose, all of it happening subconsciously. Having someone similar in your vicinity creates a feeling of ease, protected and being understood. The next time you want to test this, do this – look at her briefly for few seconds then look down at your watch for few seconds and the look back at her. If you see her fidgeting with her watch or looking at her watch its a good indication that she might be interested in you.
Eyebrow Flash
The very first signal someone send out indicating that they are attracted is the eyebrow flash. Although when people meet each other it is also common to raise the eyebrows slightly before bringing them to their original position, this is also a way of saying hello. However when you are introduced to a new person and the flash lasts a second or two longer, its a good indication that she is interested in you.
Self Touching
Women have more nerve sensors for experiencing touch than men that make then more sensitive to touch sensations. If you see the woman is lightly stroking or touching their arm or hand, while keeping an eye contact this can be an unconscious signal that she is interested in you.
Grooming
Grooming acts include moving hair that is in front of her face with either a head movement or by using her hands. If you notice that the woman smoothes down her hair, adjust her clothing, brushes her hair with her hands, licking her lips and teeth or putting on lipstick or gloss, these are all signs which show that she cares about putting her best self to impress you.
Flirting Triangle
When we look at people we are not familiar with our eyes tend to make a ziga zag motion. With people we know better we include the nose and mouth to create small triangle. Once we start flirting the triangle gets bigger and it widens at the botton to include their body. If you notice a woman watching your mouth while you are talking to them, it is a good indication that she is very much interested in you and you can make a move.
The next time you are with a group of people notice for these subtle indicators, you don’t have to play the guessing game any more, you already know the tricks of the trade.
