10 Things To Avoid For Your First Date

So you have checked and double checked on your outfits, cologne, perfume, wallet etc. etc. and you are ready. So is it a job interview? wedding? No. Its the prep work right before your first date.

There is no guarantee that your date night will go as you planned but then, you can certainly avoid disaster if you decide not to do the following -

Places To Avoid

Sports Event

A sports venue is no place for a love connection unless your date share the same passion of – painted face, beer mugs and screaming at the referee. Many girls find it unattractive and you might spoil your chance for a second date, while showing off your sporting spirit.

Bar

You must have realized when you are drunk the world looks way too colorful and everything you say seem so cool and funny, well only to you ofcourse. There are many things that can go wrong – your date can start hitting on someone, you get drunk and spill all your secrets or the worst you may call her with some other name. So try not to wear you beer-goggles on your first date, because when they wear off it often leaves a dirty trail.

Beach

Although the thought of a date on a beach sound very romantic, you should avoid going on a first date. Why? Well it can actually be very intimidating for a lot of people to get dressed in a bathing suit in front of their first date and be seen in such a little amount of clothing. You want to avoid any situation which may make you or your date uncomfortable.

Family Functions

Other places that you will definitely want to avoid during a first date are family functions – like weddings, family reunions. The reasoning behind this is that even though one person will feel completely at easeĀ  and comfortable being around their family, it puts a tremendous amount of pressure on the other person for a first date. You want to avoid adding a stressful situation to your evening’s agenda. You must understand the person you are out with already feels enough stress just going out with you for the first time; it will be very uncomfortable for them to feel as if they now have to make a good impression on your entire family at the same time.

Foods To Avoid

Spicy Food

If you eat food spicy enough to burn your intestine, thats cool, but make sure that your date does, too. Eating ethnic/spicy food might be an adventure, but then you run the risk of ending up in a physically uncomfortable spot before the end of the night. Remember the movie ‘Along Came Polly‘.

Allergy Stimulating Food

Remember the movie – Hitch. Thats right you don’t want to try yourself or take your date out to some exotic place where you have no idea what the food is made up of. Because I am sure you don’t want to look into the mirror and scream ‘Shrek‘.

Things to Avoid

Being Late

Do all the necessary preparations ahead of time. If you try out 15 pairs before deciding what to wear then I suggest that a night before, choose your outfit. So, that you won’t hurry dressing up for your date. You don’t want your partner to see you wearing the wrong pair of earrings. Make sure that when your guy knocks on your door, be careful not to cram. Having your date stand for 15 minutes on your day is definitely not a recipe for a second date.

Singing your break-up history

Make sure before you go out on a date you have buried your past in cement. Nobody want to hear you sour grape over your most recent break-up. You have your friends who can offer their shoulder to cry on, don’t look forward for that in your new prospect. Instead of dwelling in the past, know this new guy in front of you more. Ask him about his stuff like – what he does, his kind of sports, hobbies, interests and more until such time you arrive at your common interest.

Appearance

There is a reason when they say – ‘First impression, is the last impression‘. You are out looking for a date so don’t make your date run away from you because you look like the character from ‘Planet Of The Apes‘, and your breath stinks like garbage. Be on your best attire. Look good and smell fresh. That way, you can captivate his attention the entire time you are together.

Short of words

Don’t let your date ask you where your mouth is because you cannot think of anything to say. If you notice your date is having a good time discussing her menu with the waiter than talk to you, you better think fast what to talk otherwise you will have very quite night. Let him get to know you better. Tell him what you do on your work, on your free time, your favorite activities, sports and stuff.
