MyDatingTree offers an online place to connect to people. This Privacy Policy is intended to inform you of MyDatingTree's policies and practices regarding the collection, use and disclosure of any Personal Information you submit to us through our Website. MyDatingTree ("us" or "we") respects the privacy of the visitors to its Website, the home page of which is located at http://www.MyDatingTree.com ("Website"). General

We collect Personal Information that you submit to us voluntarily through our Website.

	When you register for the MyDatingTree network, we will collect your name, e-mail address, your gender, date of birth and ZIP code.
	When you create your dating tree, we will collect any name, email, address, gender, date of birth and ZIP code of the person you are currently dating or have dated in the past.
	When you save other Personal Information in your profile we will collect any such information you enter.
	When you enter Personal Information throughout the MyDatingTree network using one of the features of the MyDatingTree network, for example journals, testimonials, groups, or message boards, we will collect any such information you enter ("Publicly Posted Information").
	When you contact us by sending us an e-mail, we will collect your e-mail addresses and any information contained in the e-mail you send us.

Once you register with MyDatingTree and sign in to our services, you are not anonymous to us. If you are browsing the Website without registering with MyDatingTree, you are anonymous to us, but we will collect the information listed below under Personal Information Collected Via Technology.

Use and Disclosure of information

Any visitor of the MyDatingTree website can view your profile information and photos that you have uploaded to the MyDatingTree community. You can control what part of your profile information and photos is visible to visitors of the MyDatingTree website and which network of MyDatingTree members can see what information.
To provide you with some of the features that the MyDatingTree community offers to its members, we may use Personal Information that is stored in your profile after you have requested such features, for example to send invitation e-mails to people that you specified as being interested in joining the MyDatingTree community. In order to provide useful information about social networks to people who might be interested in joining the MyDatingTree community, we may use your profile information and photos on the MyDatingTree website and when we send emails, for example when we send birthday reminders to MyDatingTree members or when we send general newsletters to members of the MyDatingTree community. When you decide to view a member's profile, we may show that MyDatingTree member that you chose to view their profile. If you don't want us to show to other MyDatingTree members that you viewed their profile, you can change this in your privacy settings.
If you decide to use certain features of the MyDatingTree network (like journals, testimonials, groups, message boards and the like), some of the Personal Information you entered into your MyDatingTree profile and any information, including Personal Information, that you enter using one of these features, might be used and displayed.
MyDatingTree members can use the search feature to search for other members by different criteria, like location or gender. The Personal Information that MyDatingTree members enter into the MyDatingTree profile will be used for these searches.
Please be aware that any information that is publicly posted throughout the MyDatingTree network can be accessed by every visitor of the Website.
MyDatingTree may analyze any collected information for its own internal purposes. In addition, MyDatingTree may remove personally identifying information from collected information to render it anonymous. MyDatingTree may use Anonymous Information for any purpose and disclose Anonymous Information in its discretion.

Tell-A-Friend / Invite Friend

If you choose to use our referral service to tell a friend about MyDatingTree, we will ask you for your friends name and email address. We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit MyDatingTree. MyDatingTree stores and only uses this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and tracking the success of our referral program.
Your friend may submit a request that we remove this information from our database via the Contact Us page or by emailing customerservice@ MyDatingTree.com; remove requests of this nature will be completed within 30 days.

Cookies

	Cookies are a common Internet technology. Many web sites use cookies to provide useful features for their users. Cookies are small files that are written or downloaded to your computers hard drive when you access a site. They allow MyDatingTree to store and quickly retrieve login information on your computer and provide data that we can use to improve the quality of our service. Most Internet browsers (such as Internet Explorer and Safari) are initially set up to accept cookies. If you prefer, you can set your browser to refuse cookies, although you may not be able to take full advantage of MyDatingTree if you do so. This will bring up the "Settings" box. Scroll up using the slide bar on the left-hand side of the box, until the wording in the box states Block All Cookies. Then click on the "OK" button on the bottom of the menu box. If you follow these instructions, your computer will not accept cookies in future.
	MyDatingTree may link information stored in cookies such as your age, gender and country with your personally identifiable information and we may use such information to gather statistics about the number of people who visit MyDatingTree and to customize MyDatingTree’s content, layout and services for delivery to you.
	Our advertising partners may set and access cookies or use other technologies such as web beacons (which are electronic files that allow a web site to count users who have visited that page or to access certain cookies) in order to personalize advertising content. Internet awareness

Whenever you voluntarily post personal information in public areas, like journals, weblogs, message boards and forums, this information can be accessed by the public and can in turn be used by others to send you unsolicited communications. MyDatingTree recommends that you exercise discretion in deciding what information you disclose on the Internet.

Children

Children under the age of 13 are not eligible to use MyDatingTree and must not attempt to register with MyDatingTree and/or submit any personal information to us. MyDatingTree does not knowingly collect personal information from any person who is under the age of 13 or allow them to register. If it comes to our attention that we have collected personal data from a person under the age of 13, we will delete this information as quickly as possible. If you have reason to believe that this has occurred, please contact us via the Contact Us page, and we will delete any such information.

We recommend that children between the ages of 13 and 17 should not send any information about themselves to anyone over the Internet without asking their parents or legal guardians for permission beforehand.

Canceling membership

You always have the option to cancel your membership at any time. If you are a member and no longer wish to participate in MyDatingTree you can sign in to the site and click on the My Account at the top of the page; then select cancel membership and follow the simple instructions.
